Call me a dreamer, say I'm a little naive.

"They said you ain't got a prayer, a chance in you know where. But I just didn't care, when I looked in your eyes."

1; Country music.

I know, I know. A very love or hate type of genre.  Many people don't like the country twang, the sappy lyrics, or the fact that most of the time you can understand what they're saying-- as opposed to rap, hip hop, screamo, etc -- not that I have anything against that type of music, but in those genres a lot of the lyrics are unrecognizable.  But then again, some country music is like that as well.

I love country music; older more "veteran" type artists such as Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood etc. But I also enjoy the newer artists like Jason Aldean, Lost Trailers, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan , etc.  Yes, there are discrepancies between old and new artists, but those were just examples.  Duh.  And yes, call me crazy, but I do like Taylor Swift. And I know she is arguable country / pop, but whatever.  I don't like her because "everybody" likes her, I like her because her lyrics are so relatable to a teenaged girl. Cliche or not, it's true. So get over it. Haha.

That's one of the main things I like about country music; the lyrics.  A lot of the lyrics are relatable and realistic. I like that the artists are very royal to their fans. They are notorious for performing at county fairs and state fairs. They make stops on their tours to smaller cities to hit more of the "home-town" crowd. I respect that about them, they make time for their fans. They have specialized "meet and greets" and signings just to help out their fans.

I'm a teenager. I do think about the future. And I'm a hopeless romantic, shocking, I know. The words in many of their songs discuss relationships and family and the future and that really hits me. It's comforting, because for me-- listening to a song about an "Underdog" such from Lost Trailers, is more intriguing than listening to songs about getting rich and having sex.  Not that all rap songs are the same, but many are. These songs make me, as well as many of my friends, feel good about the finer things in life such as family, friends, and love.

I like believing that we still are in high school, and we have our whole lives in front of us to find "the one" and worry about finding the things sung about in these songs, they are just a minor glimpse of what it possibly could be like when we find those things we strive for.

I am not by any means degrading any other genre of music, because all artists equally talented  and all genres are not easy to succeed in, so kudos to all the famous artists in the industry.

And thank you to the country music stars who give us hopeless, young romantics hope for the future.

Okay, that's it.
Laterrr.

I believe in the underdog.
